My life is like an open book it depends on how you read me. Sometimes I’m not affable and sometimes not amenable but I want to let them know I never pretend to be someone just to make them be fond of me.&lt;span class="Apple-converted-space"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt; I know some people don’t like me. They hate the way I did things, the way I act, and the way I deal with others.  I will do what I want and do what I think is right, this is me! My life, My rules, My style, coz I’m a real person not an imitation&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify; "&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;If anyone tries to pull me down, it goes to show that I’m on TOP of them… so I CHEER UP! =) and say &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;“Insecurity reigns in the ugly heart of a person with an empty brain”. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;You will always see what’s wrong when you are right. I can be joyful even when I am not happy.  Happiness, as the worlds defines it involves my environment… my home, my money, my friends, and my health but joy is internal. Happiness is usually temporary but joy is abiding and remains when beauty fades.  Happiness is material; joy is spiritual. It’s when two people knew that they where really not compatible but they choose to stay and fight for incompatibility. =)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify; "&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;Sometimes I wish to renew my self because I think I’m too bad like a freak, I always do stupid things towards my especial someone. However when I’ve done something wrong I admit it and say sorry I agree in the saying that “No one has ever choked to death from swallowing there pride…” One of the best feelings in the world is realizing you’re perfectly happy without the things you thought you needed.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify; "&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;In life there are lots of people watching our next move, desperately waiting for us to fail and even praying for us to give-up but I don’t mind them, it just doubles the fun of living and surviving. I keep in mind that failures and problems are not things I should be scared of they could lead to breakthroughs and great discoveries. I see life as an adventure and enjoy every moment of it.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="text-align: justify; "&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-size:small;" &gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="color:#f3868b;"&gt;I guess, the greatest thing I’ve learned life, is never to invest too much emotion on one thing, coz if you do, you would end of hurting yourself. Right? I thank GOD I’m rich- not with money but with a person who loves and accept for who I am. I may not have the most expensive things but I got one of his most precious creations.. my GG (God's Gift).. He and my family are the wealth I have around me. With them people will know how rich I am even without money. He believed that there would definitely be someone special out there for him, but none came.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Every year at Christmas, his ex-girlfriend would return from Vancouver to look him up. He was aware that she still held some hope of re-kindling the past romance with him. He did not wish to mislead her in any way. So he would always get one of his girl friends to pose as his steady whenever she came back. That went on for several years and each year, the guy would get a different girl to pose as his romantic interest. So whenever the ex-girlfriend came to visit him, she would be led into believing that it was all over between her and the guy. The girl took all those rather well, often trying to casually tease him about his different girlfriends, or so, as it seemed! In fact, the girl often wept in secret whenever she saw him with another girl, but she was too proud to admit it. Still, every Christmas, she returned, hoping to re-kindle some form of romance. But each time, she returned to Vancouver feeling disappointed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally she decided that she could not play that game any longer. Therefore, she confronted him and professed that after all those years, he was still the only man that she had ever loved. Although the guy knew of her feelings for him, he was still taken back and have never expected her to react that way. He always thought that she would slowly forget about him over time and come to terms that it was all over between them. Although he was touched by her undying love for him and wanted so much to accept her again, he remembered why he rejected her in the first place-she was not the one he wanted. So he hardened his heart and turned her down cruelly. Since then, three years have passed and the girl never return anymore. They never even wrote to each other. The guy went on with his life..... still searching for the one but somehow deep inside him, he missed the girl.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On the Christmas of 1995, he went to his friend's party alone. "Hey, how come all alone this year? Where are all your girlfriends? What happened to that Vancouver babe who joins you every Christmas?", asked one of his friend. He felt warm and comforted by his friend's queries about her, still he just surged on.&lt;br /&gt;Then, he came upon one of his many girlfriends whom he once requested to pose as his steady. He wanted so much to ignore her ..... not that he was impolite, but because at that moment, he just didn't feel comfortable with those girlfriends anymore. It was almost like he was being judged by them. The girl saw him and shouted across the floor for him. Unable to avoid her, he went up to acknowledge her.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Hi......how are you? Enjoying the party?" the girl asked.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Sure.....yeah!", he replied.&lt;br /&gt;She was slightly tipsy..... must be from the whiskey on her hand. She continued,&lt;br /&gt;"Why...? Don't you need someone to pose as your girlfriend this year?" Then he answered, "No, there is no need for that anymore......"&lt;br /&gt;Before he can continue, he was interrupted, "Oh yes! Must have found a girlfriend! You haven't been searching for one for the past years, right?" The man looked up, as if he has struck gold, his face beamed and looked directly at the drunken girl. He replied, "Yes......you are right! I haven't been looking for anyone for the past years."&lt;br /&gt;With that, the man darted across the floor and out the door, leaving the lady in much bewilderment. He finally realized that he has already found his dream girl, and she was.....the Vancouver girl all along! The drunken lady has said something that awoken him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All along he has found his girl. That was why he did not bother to look further when he realized she was not coming back. It was not any specific girl he was seeking! It was perfection that he wanted, and yes.....perfection!!&lt;br /&gt;Relationship is something both parties should work on. Realizing that he had let away someone so important in his life, he decided to call her immediately. His whole mind was flooded with fear. He was afraid that she might have found someone new or no longer had the same feelings anymore..... For once, he felt the fear of losing someone.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As it was Christmas eve, the line was quite hard to get through, especially an overseas call. He tried again and again, never giving up. Finally, he got through......precisely at 1200 midnight. He confessed his love for her and the girl was moved to tears. It seemed that she never got over him! Even after so long, she was still waiting for him, never giving up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He was so excited to meet her and to begin his new chapter of their lives. He decided to fly to Vancouver to join her. It was the happiest time of their lives! But their happy time was short-lived. Two days before he was supposed to fly to Vancouver, he received a call from her father. She had a head-on car collision with a drunken driver. She passed away after 6 hours in a coma.&lt;br /&gt;The guy was devastated, as it was a complete loss. Why did fate played such cruel games with him? He cursed the heaven for taking her away from him, denying even one last look at her! How cruel he cursed! How he damned the Gods...!! How he hated himself....for taking so long to realize his mistake!! That was in 1996.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The moral of this story is :&lt;br /&gt;Treasure what you have...&lt;br /&gt;Time is too slow for those who wait;&lt;br /&gt;Too swift for those who fear;&lt;br /&gt;Too long for those who grief;&lt;br /&gt;Too short for those who rejoice;&lt;br /&gt;But for those who love...&lt;br /&gt;Time is Eternity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For all you out there with someone special in your heart, cherish that person, cherish every moment that you spend together that special someone, for in life, anything can happen anytime. Once there was an emperor in the Far East who was growing old and knew it was coming time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or one of his own children, he decided to do something different. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;He called all the young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, "It has come time for me to step down and to choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you." The kids were shocked! But the emperor continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One seed. It is a very special seed. I want you to go home, plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring to me, and the one I choose will be the next emperor of the kingdom!" &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;There was one boy named Ling who was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the whole story. She helped him get a pot and some planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Ling kept going home and checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by. Still nothing.&lt;br /&gt;By now others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure. Six months went by, still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But she encouraged him to go, and to take his pot, and to be honest about what happened. Ling felt sick to his stomach, but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace.&lt;br /&gt;When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by all the other youths. They were beautiful, in all shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other kinds laughed at him. A few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try." &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!"&lt;br /&gt;All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was terrified. "The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!" &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. "My name is Ling," he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!" Ling couldn't believe it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor? &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds which would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grown, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. color: rgb(153, 153, 0); font-family: georgia;"&gt;&lt;class="postbody"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: normal;font-size:18;" &gt;            Last, Wednesday September 24, 2008 we interviewed Mrs. Florita L. Oligario HRMO3 of City Government of Davao to ask her concept on the nature, scope and role of human resource management. Her concept is similar to that of the management of organization and I agree with her because of her understandable and comprehensive explanation about it.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;class="postbody"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: normal;font-size:18;" &gt;           First she discussed to us the nature of human resource management. Their nature has evolved now and then. She told us that, before they were not so organized, they only have small group of employee, lack of facilities, they were limited to some transaction like hiring and preparation of documents and appointments. Right now their nature is more developed, their functions have expanded, their limited transaction like hiring is improved and their facilities are more convenient to use. She also added that their employee right now has some annual benefits and incentives. She enumerates some of incentives for their employee like travel package here in Davao 300pesos each and salo-salo package 100pesos for exemplary achievement of their employee. These are based on their performance rating every six months. If an employee has a good performance in 2 succeeding semester he/she received 2,000pesos and if she has fair rating, she will dropped from rules. She appeals to people that are saying employees of City Hall was not good, but they take it as a challenged to motivate their employees. Ma’am Obligario believed that Human Resource is the asset of the company and can be a human capital.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;class="postbody"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: normal;font-size:18;" &gt;           About the scope of their human resource management, she cites some of them such as recruitment, training, and payroll. In the recruitment of their permanent employee or plantilla they have some qualification to meet. First, take the qualifying exam and followed by interview with the personnel selection board. After that the credentials is evaluated, then they prepared a comparative report. The last is the approval of the City Mayor. They also have to take Civil Service and meet the minimum standard. For their non- plantilla there’s no need to take some their qualification. She stated that “not whom you know but how you posses your ability on the job”. They also conduct training for skills required and needs of their employee improvement. Their payroll is every 15th and 30th of the month through ATM.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;class="postbody"&gt;&lt;span style="line-height: normal;font-size:18;" &gt;           When we asked her about the role of human resource management, she only answered us to “meet the need of the clients” same as our first respondent Sir Bobet Nacilla told us. Then we asked her if she meets her expectation of their company, she answered “More than enough of my expectation. Job is fulfilling though it is stressful and I worked beyond office hours”. The last statement she said and very proud to say it “WE ARE EXCELLENT”. It was given by our teacher a head of time but we didn’t able to start it immediately because we had no idea on how we would start it. All I can say that it is one of the most complicated projects that I ever encountered. It’s our first time to make a Gantt chart and it’s really hustle. We took long time on making the Gantt chart because we were stuck on deciding how we were going to accomplish this major paper on limited time. Last day we had able to past it and we hope that there will be no problem about it. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:georgia;font-size:130%;color:#999900;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The deadline of our major paper is fast approaching and we hope that we able to past it on time. Next week we had our first schedule of visiting our adopted company to ask their permission again to conduct a study about their company. We had listed some possible questions that we would tackle during the interview. To look for an adopted company was not easy. You must have a high patience and determination to have it. I can’t imagine that we almost&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 0);font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt; stroll the whole downtown area to seek a certain company for our &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 0);font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;report. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(153, 153, 0);font-family:georgia;font-size:100%;"  &gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;During that time, we’re a pachyderm (makapal ang mukha) for the sake of having a company. We have visited such establishments like; Panasonic, Emcor, Gaisano Mall, Victoria Plaza, Gaisano South Mall, and etc. The first thing that we asked to the company that we visited was if they allowed students to conduct a study and interview about their company. We provide a letter to our suspected company; those companies are Emcor, Six Eleven Global Teleservices and the City Government of Davao. Before we’ve finally found our adopted company we were rejected many times but those rejections give us more determination. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Every time we were disregarded, we felt that we were similar to those applicants that had been rejected to the job they were applying. Even though we’re very tired, spend a lot of money for our fare and our toes start to have callus, we still enjoyed because of some funny moments. One of those was when everyone thought that one of my peers was blind because we were guiding her while walking and people were amazed of what they’ve seen, that a blind person was keep on texting. (Hehehe, we were so stupid that time). They allowed us to conduct an interview about their company. They we’re so kind and hospitable to us. (Nosebleed nga lang kami doon sobra, speaking dollar sila tanan,hehehe..) Every corner there is a sign saying "Speaking English Zone". They entertained us very well and they answered some of our questions. In fact they invited us to take the free English training to enhance more our English grammar and fluency but we didn’t able to attend the training because of the hectic schedule that we had. The HR Director of City Gov’t was Mrs. Laperacion Daplin, she is so nice to us. She received our letter right away. Then the following week we conduct an interview with one of their IT specialist it was Sir. Bobet Nacilla. He discussed everything about the flow of the HRIS in their company. He also shared to us his own knowledge about it and gave us some tips. After we interviewed him we had pictorials for our presentation, then we approach Ma’am Daplin and also take some picture with her. When we had already those information that we need we immediately made our reports and presented it during our schedule time. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Those things that happened from the beginning until the time we already presented our report were so memorable to me. Before we end our class I’m one of those who share the experiences and learning’s that I have learned in HRM. Why I said so? It’s because in this subject you already introduced to the real world. It doesn’t only focus on books and school affair. In fact, in this subject we often met our teacher personally we’d just met and take our assignment on the forum. We made also our own blog to post our assignment and journal like what had you read right now. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#999900;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#999900;"&gt;In this subject there are some advantages and disadvantages. Well, the advantage is we usually have no class. We had a free time generally but there are assignments that we should accomplish. This is my only subject that we don’t have quizzes and exams. Nice to hear right? But in the end it’s the most tiring subject because in the end of the semester we must accomplish our major paper. He gives us knowledge to create any kind of things that we want. Above all of the creations human beings are chosen by our Almighty to take care of the resources and to manage it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_idea.png" alt="Idea" smilieid="18" /&gt; Relating to the company, we human is the most important resources because we can handle, build up, improve and yet can destroy the company. They are several companies that their employees are taken for granted nor they don’t give value with their employees. Many cases that employees are being abuse and degrade their rights us individual. It should be the first and main priority of any organization. It lost a total of 14,681 workers.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;The top two industries that reported the biggest number of laid-off workers belonged to the export sector which had been vocal over a strong peso that undermined their ability to survive.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;They had earlier reported closures and retrenchments but confirmation by a government was only made this week with the BLES report.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;Manufacturers of equipment and apparatus were the second biggest victims with seven firms closing down and 37 others downsizing and accounting for 5,834 workers who lost jobs.Third biggest sector hit by lay-off and closures was the garments industry. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p style="color: rgb(0, 204, 204); text-align: justify;" class="MsoNormal"&gt;The industry reported 25 companies that closed and 57 others that retrenched workers. It admitted to laying off 18,718 workers with the closure of 288 establishments and retrenchment made by 1,305 others.
